Your News on tvCentral
24 August 2009
“If you have news, we want to know about it,” says Daryl Anderson, CEO of Television Media Group on the latest show to come out the regional station.
Waikato and Bay of Plenty regional television station tvCentral has recently received a funding contract from NZonAir to assist with the production and broadcast of its very first news show.
The show ‘Central News’ will air at 5pm and 9pm five days a week, showcasing a daily news and weather report followed by interviews featuring the latest in finance, motoring, politics, farming, sport and events from in and around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
Daryl says a news show has always been on the agenda since the tvCentral, formerly known as FamilyTV, broadcast began in 2002 and to finally see it realised is a massive achievement.
“We are excited to see this dream become a reality. We have wanted to showcase our regions news for so long and we can finally say to the Waikato and Bay of Plenty residents, we know there are exciting things happening in your communities, let’s hear about them!“
Central News is in the early production phase and producers Rexine Hawes and Janene Forlong are currently sourcing news and events and are inviting people to send in their media releases or just drop them an email.
A number of the feature stories will be filmed live in the Matamata based studio with a percentage filmed on-location.
“As a community broadcaster we want to create a platform to enable your story to be shared so get those digital cameras rolling, send in the footage or photos and your story!” says Daryl.
You can contact the Central News team at news @ tvcentral.co.nz or at the studio on (07) 888 5030.
