tvCentral - Providing Family Safe Television
20 February 2009
Any parents looking for a family safe option for their child’s viewing should look no further than tvCentral.
The foundational emphasis of tvCentral is to provide quality programming containing positive life values which is reflective of the community and its expectations, suitable for family viewing at all times.
Matamata based, tvCentral began launching as Family Television Network in 2001, broadcasting into the Matamata basin. The station re-launched as tvCentral in 2007 from Mt Te Aroha – strengthening its broadcast to include the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
In its own right, each tvCentral produced show aims to bring up to date information on the latest technology, regional issues, politics and market trends, as well as showcasing local people and businesses. Outside of the current affairs sphere is Mish Mash, tvCentral’s children’s show aimed at five to 12-year-olds, exhibiting regional schools, arts and crafts, Kidz Biz Newz and awesome giveaways from Hamilton Zoo vouchers to sports balls and BMX bikes.
tvCentral can be viewed on the free to air UHF analogue, channel 40 and is also now available on Freeview|HD channel 30.
Operating under the banner of Television Media Group, tvCentral operates along with AlphaMedia Productions (programming, commercials and DVD corporate work), live web streaming of iTV Live (Information Television) in Rotorua and community regional station ‘TV Rotorua’.
