Family TV Rotorua is excited about their recent success in receiving a grant of $80,000.00 from the Rotorua Charitable Trust. This grant will be used to assist with the set up of Rotorua’s very own Television Studio and Office. The grant falls in line with FamilyTV Rotorua’s first birthday!

We are very pleased to announce that we have secured premises in the old Mansions Building, Eruera Street, Rotorua, which FamilyTV Rotorua will lease. The premises will require a facelift prior to occupation. We envisage this process will not take too long and we have already purchased the studio fittings.

To have our own studio in Rotorua, will allow more opportunities for employment and bring another dimension and strength to the Rotorua community.

We congratulate the Rotorua Community on its support, which has come from local businesses, schools, events, community organisations and our viewers. Businesses have donated prizes for Rotorua children on our children’s show MishMash, where we also film pre and primary schools and broadcast on a daily basis.

We have been able to showcase local business daily on our show, Let’s Go Shopping, and also cover the amazing events which Rotorua hosts. Spokespeople from Rotorua have travelled to our Matamata Studio to speak about and promote these events. We also thank all our local sponsors, Shorland Holden, Kilwell Sports, Jean Jones, Whitcoulls, United Video, Unichem Western Heights Pharmacy and many other business, who supported us prior to going on air, and have continued to do so. Their support has been overwhelming.

“When we launched on 22nd July 2006, it was always our intention to have a studio base that would fulfil our Charitable Trusts vision which is to produce up to 30 % of local programmes within the family safe charter” says CEO, Mr Daryl Anderson.

As a Charitable Trust, we are a free-to-air dynamic community-based television station, being under the umbrella of Television Media Group.
FamilyTV Rotorua has been broadcast into Rotorua 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, since July 2006.
